Skilled Migration Visa

This stream of visa targets personnel from both overseas and those live in Australia on non-immigration visa status who are highly skilled in their occupation and who have substantial work experience, have post-secondary qualifications, are under 45 years of age at the time when the application is made and who will quickly make a contribution to the Australian economy. It is noted that the work experience is not necessarily required if the applicants complete a full-time post-secondary academic study for two years in Australia and lodge the application within 6 months after the course is finished.
Skilled visa subclasses are classified as offshore and onshore classes.

If you are outside Australia, you have the following options to choose your skilled visa applications:
1, Independent (subclass 136) visa¡ªyou don't have any relatives in Australia or State/Territory Government sponsorship.
You may not meet the passmark for the Skilled - Independent (Subclass 136) visa but you would like your details placed on a database which is accessed by employers and State/Territory Governments who may then nominate you for a visa.
A visa option you could consider is the Skill Matching (subclass 134) visa.

2, Australian Sponsored (subclass 138) visa¡ªyou have a relative who is willing and able to sponsor you, and is one of the following:
    an Australian citizen
    an Australian permanent resident
    an eligible New Zealand Citizen
3, Independent Regional (Provisional) (subclass 495) visa--A State/Territory Government is willing and able to sponsor you.
If your occupation is on the nominating State/Territory¡¯s Skills Shortage List and you can meet the pool mark in the General Skilled Migration points test, then a visa option you could consider is the State/Territory Nominated Independent (subclass 137) visa.

If you are in Australia, you have the following options to choose your skilled visa applications:

1, Independent Overseas Student (subclass 880) visa--you don't have any relatives in Australia or State/Territory Government sponsorship.
2, Australian Sponsored Overseas Student (subclass 881) visa-- you have a relative who is willing and able to sponsor you, and is one of the following:
    an Australian citizen
    an Australian permanent resident
    an eligible New Zealand Citizen
